Cued American English

What is Cued Speech?

Cued language, Cued Speech (CS), or Cued American English (for our purposes are the same thing). Cued American English (CAE) is a visual code that provides visual access to languages accessed through auditory means, in this case American English. Cued languages are not different languages than what is being accessed auditorily, instead it provides information to clarify what auditorily sounds different but information that sounds the same.

Why CUE?

There are many reasons why a parent would decide to cue. "It let me be the same dad with you as with your brothers."

Or another mom that has been cueing since she was 12 and thought, "It works for our family"
